Rich - since you mentioned Macrium Reflect a few years ago in 2013 I downloaded and installed it and made an image of two PCs. In folder there is the image file and another file named with just numbers. I never read any instructions, opened any of the constant emails, nor looked for tutorials and I now am interested and have some time so thought I would ask if the website would have usage instructions or were I might find out more.
Must have been easy for I did make an image and now wish to continue.
As I said on other forum I have some other unrelated time demanding issues but am still working on present postings advice and reading. Trying to keep it all together and succeed with as much as I can. Thanks.

Here is a tutorial BG :
    http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/7363/macrium-reflect-is-a-free-and-easy-to-use-backup-utility/

What I do is I make an image file monthly. I use the highest compression under "advanced options" and I change the name
of the file as I use i.e. "2-7-2015 BKP" as the actual file name where it says "use the image file name given" as I change it and then after selecting "finish" which starts the image file creation I also change it where it says "enter a name for this backup file creation". The two boxes in that final box must be checked in order to first make the file and then to allow for incremental or differential image files later it must be saved as an "XML Backup Definition File" to do so. I make incrementals all month long and then at the beginning of the next month I again make a full image file. After I do the first incremental file the next month I then delete all the incrementals from the month before so I am left at the end of 6 months with 6 full image files. When I make the 7th one I then delete the first full one I made originally and so on. Now remember I also use a file and data backup ("Handy Backup") made hourly or daily depending on how much I use the program and what it is.

Oh and my suggestion is make the "Windows PE Rescue Disk" and not the first one or Linux based disk because the drive letters will not be altered when you read them and the directions are easier to follow.
