Low disk space warnings - configurable ?

Discussion in 'Windows Home Server' started by -, Apr 2, 2009.

    We have several production (SQL) servers that have free space we consider
    low but the Windows 2003 O/S does not. I understand the O/S low disk space
    warnings start at 200MB ? Is this correct?

    Is there any way to customize these settings to a threshold that we consider
    low ? Ultimately we would like to know when HD space drops below 4GB.

    Thanks
    Nick

    You can use Performance Monitor and Alerts tool to create an alert for
    diskspace.

    It defaults to 10% You can edit the Reg_DWord value of DiskSpaceThreshold
    found at;

    HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\LanmanServer\Parameters

    If it doesn't exist then ADD it.
