My ISP is from Charter Cable and have a Motorola surfboard cable Modem connected to a Linksys WRT54G v6 Router to a Dell Desktop computer. My laptop(win 7) and Ipad fuction also
I also have a ASRock computer in another room which WAS getting the internet wireless via the Dell and router until I had to clear the cmos and replace the HD in theASRock. All is well with the change, except, the wireless(internet) no longer functions in the ASRock. I had no problem connecting before the install of a new battery, new larger HD and XP.

I get a message that tells me I need to copy something from #1 computer(Dell) to #2(ASRock) with a flash drive. What file do I copy, and how do I find it?

    Welcome to CHF wmnoyes.

You didn't mention it, so I will ask. Did you also install the XP Service pack 3? SP3 brought significant improvement to wireless connections. Without it I couldn't connect my XP notebook via Wireless router.

Yes to all further replies. The problem was corrected by running the install CD from the #1 computer (Dell) in the #2 computer(AsRock).
Thank you all for you replies...........Bill
