If not the correct group for this question, maybe someone could direct
    me to another group please...........

Using Vista. I have both file deletion and shredder programs and file
recover programs. For files that were deleted just thru windows
[usually recycle bin] I can recover many of them thru a recovery
program and they are called "lost files". I understand this to mean
the body is there but the naming is gone. The file deletion programs
do not seem to recognize these and even after a free space wipe, they
can still be recovered. I can find no info trhu searches to tell me
how these 'lost files" can be deleted for good so that they cannot be
recovered. I've seen old bank statements, work related information,
excel files, spreadsheets, etc. etc. etc. that can be recoved and I'd
like to get them off my system once and for all. Any help would be
    appreciated. TIA.

This actually has nothing to do with Vista. If you can still recover deleted
files after using a third-party file deletion program, then that file
    deletion program isn't very good.

This Google search will give you a lot of links regarding data destruction.

    Google for data destruction software.
