    Hello,

I just clicked My Computer and noticed my Local Disk (C:) bar was all red. It should not be because i am only using 25% of the space, when i clicked properties the circle was 75% pink.

And now as iam typing this i checked again and it switched back to normal...... it is not red anymore and says "342GB free of 456GB"...strange.

    could this be a virus?
i already did a norton scan and everything fine.

    Hope someone can help:)

    Thanks

Could be a number of things from a failing hard drive to malware, the big question is how often it happens?

It just started today....i did a system restore and when it all loaded back up i downloaded a disk defrag program that i wasnt sure was working that well so i canceled the defrag restarted the computer and when it all loaded up the antivirus was disabled but once i updated it it turned green and is now working...then later i noticed the local disk bar being red and then changing back to normal.

Could well be something to do with the disk defrag program not working to well and being interrupted,

it could be a corrupt registry key, in which case, a system restore to before when you installed the defrag program should sort things out.

or it could be a boot file on the drive being corrupted which is a little more complex to fix, and a little beyond my experience to advise you confidently on.

but one of our other techs may well totally disagree and help you. as soon as they come on line.

if you are concerned about Viruses, still though feel free to start a thread in the Malware section, and one of our Malware Staff will take a look for you. ;)

Thanks for the heads up DSTM, I have commented on there that we are looking into it here.

If you are using Malwarebytes to run that scan, can you copy and paste the log here when it is finished please.

We can then advise if it is needed for our security staff to have a look more deeply for you, as sometimes bits can be left over that may need further and better removal.

OK, thanks for that, I am no expert but I doubt those two files are the problem, but we will alert our security guys to have a look, just in case.
However I think perhaps that the good advice from Match regarding a system restore, back to a time before you installed that defrag program, may be the end of the problem. But please don't do it till someone has looked at that log.

Your copy of MBAM is out of date.

Please update MBAM and run another scan:
    Start MBAM
    Click on the Update tab

    .

    Click Check for Updates

The latest Database Version is: v2012.02.13.01

If it says that MBAM needs to close to update it... let it close and then restart.
Then click the Update button again to ensure the database is updated after the version update.

    Then click the Scan button.

    Don't forget:
