    My Core Temp works well, but I have the stand alone version. William's right as the core temp installer wants to install crap.

    I used the stand alone years ago it's good but once you change file associations it will not run on startup properly. I like it to run minimized and on startup every time I boot so I can properly monitor temperatures. The stand alone version was only good for spot checking. The version I linked has one checkbox for a toolbar vs. 6 programs on the new versions that also cause about 80 PuPs, and the version I mentioned has no spyware and zero PuPs as long as you cancel out of the one toolbar.

    Ok. In most cases unless it's expressly made for the operating system, it won't work with full functionality -- depending. In some cases it will if it's based on the same OS kernel, but in those cases unless you know how to edit a DLL or INI you will have to use your suggestion of running in compatibility mode.
