hey everyone i seem to be having a problem with the wireless on my comp this is the first time this happened. So at my house we have comcast for internet but its not wireless so we had to get a wireless router the Linksys E1000, The problem is i get internet but when i look at the wireless connection the sending and reviving keeps rising it starts at like 400 then gets to like 100,000 when it gets that high it says im connected to the internet but cant surf it. i dont know why its doing that i have to disconnect then reconnect to use the wireless again.

Did you configure the router? on the bottom of the router itself is a sticker with the router home page it is normally 192.168.1.1 (YOU HAVE TO connect to the router with an Ethernet cable to configure the router)
when you type the address it will give you a windows log in box that comes up on the screen asking for a username and a password (again will be on the same sticker under the router, write these down before doing the above to save you keep looking under the router  )

Once inside the router you go to the 'home page' and you can set the name of the router (SSID) and the type of security (encryption) if the router uses Wireless N and your computer does, to go to 300MBps you need WPA2 none of the others will allow over 150MBps
