    about 7 years old now probably =p. so i doubt it, i was actually able 2 get somewhere with the repair computer option, eventually a screen came up asking what language i choose English then a bunch of options came up about 6 i think, one was repair computer, one was go back to a previous date and there were a few others i don't remember what they said i tried the repair option, it just got done had me restart it, but so far not looking like any differences = (

    Good point Rich, but I was under the impression that Eric still had a problem with the choices offered in the Advanced Options window.

    its working now! i tried the repair system option like 3 times before that and it just decided 2 work lol, thanks for all the help guys

    If your notebook is seven years old, it owes you nothing. This also means you must have
    at one point, installed or had installed Windows 7 since 7 was only released in 2009. In
    any case, I would copy anything important that you don't want to lose before the laptop
    completely craps out on you....

    Yes I do think a new hard drive fixes this but as to cost well depends on size and where you are. Not sure if you are in US but if yes then $55-75 probably. But with a new drive and a non functioning one you need a Windows disk or mfgr Restore Disks to install Windows and programs.

    I mean you really should double think this IMHO. A laptop is generally conceded to have a 3 year life and you are at 7 so as Cindy suggested, it owes you nothing.
    Laptops today are way les money then they were when you bought that and a lot faster with more features so before I considered buying a new hard drive and installing XP or Vista that must be on that, I would shop for a new one, but your money, your decision!

    hey so i got my laptop running good again, up to speed, slow because of older model but definitely useable, and im tryin 2 reset my computer but i have no date 2 reset 2, any advice?
