    If you right click on the file and select properties >> Security.
    Do you see something like this:

    and if you then click on Advanced.... do you see something like this?

    If not, you will need to alter the permissions for the file so that you have full control over it.

    Edit:
    If you still can't remove the padlock symbol.... we could use one of Farbars (author of FRST ) tools to replace the permissions.
    The only thing we'll need is the full path to the picture.
    eg: .... C:\Users\Starbuck\Pictures\123

    123 being the name of the actual picture.

    You can get the full file path by right clicking the pic, select properties and then looking at the location on the General tab.
    Add the actual file name ( at the top of the properties box) to this path and you have the full file path that we need.

    Thanks. Yes those are the boxes I get except in the second one the only name is mine.
    I have however got round this now by taking a crop of the photo, then saving it with a new name, so I now have the photo with no lock.
