Yesterday driverscanner installed 2 drivers (Microsoft wireless laser keyboard and mouse 5000 driver updates) and then the mouse and keyboard stopped working and haven't worked since.
Now my windows 7 won't work with any keyboard or mouse but I have windows XP installed too and everything works there fine.
Clearly its a driver problem, anyway I can fix it? thanks in advance!

    Hi arboy2

If you start windows 7 in safe mode you should be able to access the device manager and roll back the drivers, or do a system restore to before when the drivers were installed

I'd also uninstall driverscanner, you can't beat checking the manufacturers sites manually for driver updates.

The keyboard and mouse should work in safe mode as only the neccessary drivers to start your OS are used.
Since you have a dual boot system you need to access safe mode a little differently. When the Boot loader menu
(list of the available operating systems) appears, use the arrow keys on the keyboard to select the Windows 7
entry. Press the Enter key and then immediately begin tapping the F8 key. The Windows Advanced Options menu
appears. Scroll to and select the Safe mode menu item, and then press Enter.

I tried that now and it loads all the driver files (sys) and then it still won't work, is it possible to give me an sys file to replace the keyboard and mouse files?

How are you going to copy the system files needed without the use of keyboard/mouse?
You need to copy these files from your computer (Windows USB drivers).

    (c:\WINDOWS\system32) Hccoin.dll
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers) Usbehci.sys - Usbhub.sys - Usbport.sys

Copy them to their respective locations using a cd and booting to safe mode with command prompt.
Once you have them copied – the USB keyboard and mouse should work.

Have you attempted a Windows 7 start up repair using the OS DVD and selecting system restore to a date prior to the installation of these problem drivers?

The mouse and keyboard work on my windows XP so I do it, the problem is downloading these files.
and how do I know if I have a restore?

Using the Windows 7 start up repair and selecting system restore on the System Recovery Options menu will
show you a list of system restore dates to choose from. You will need to enter the BIOS and change the boot
menu to boot from CD/DVD. Your keyboard should work when you are asked to select any key to boot from OS
    disk.

Hi, as a sort of sideways thought, but being dual boot it may not be possible to do.
However try a total shutdown, then remove the plug for the mouse, then boot up in to Windows 7, once booted up plug in the mouse, hopefully Windows might see it as new hardware and install its own drivers.
If that does work, try the same with the keyboard.

On your dual boot system, what is the default operating system, XP or 7?
