    Thanks Bob.
Yes, not good at all at the moment. With heatwave conditions, fires and thousands of our native animals dying from the heat, these are trying times.

I've heard it's getting to 120 deg f (49 deg C). That's down right unbearable. How long is this supposed to last?

I would hope no more than another two weeks and should go back to low 30c
Last 2 weeks of December and all of January is our hottest time of the year.
This year is extremely hot and it is very uncomfortable day after day.
When you see birds falling out of trees dead, it's hot.
I have bird baths in my garden and birds flock to them for water and splash themselves to cool off.
I heard about 100,000 bats fell dead out of trees in southern Queensland a few days ago when the temp reached 40c.
The rest of the year is beautiful weather.

I cannot imagine living where it is that hot. At least in colder temps one can always add a sweater or something. How terrible for the birds and animals. It is kind of you, DSTM, to be putting out water for them to cool off in.

A relative of mine lives in Australia and mentioned how how it was. Fortunately they are close to the ocean and go for a swim every day after work. It is so sad to hear that birds and other animals are suffering from this heat. How are the Koalas doing in that heat? Are you managing okay DSTM.? Perth & Cairns must be even hotter.

I know how hot it can be - believe it or not, in Canada in my neck of the country, the summer temps go as high as 40C and sometimes higher. It lasts for a couple of weeks & is unbearable .
