Jumping cursor emprobl as shown by the word problem! My cursor will jump back from a few spaces to an entire line. Running system 7 on a dell studio. Checked for virus and ram issues. Happens in MS Word or when typing in any browser. Looking for ideas that might cause a cursor to jump.

If you only used one A/V app., try a couple more. Malwarebytes would be a good place to start.

Hello and welcome. If this is a laptop, sometimes a stray finger will touch the trackpad and move the cursor.

Hi and welcome to Computer Help Forums.
Try this as well and let us know whether it worked for you.

Open the Control Panel, double click on the "Mouse" icon, then the "Pointer Options" tab, then UNCHECK the box next to "Enhance pointer precision", then click "Apply", then "OK".
