Java Question

    Is java an acceptable program? In the past i recall there was "talk" that it may be a detrimental program to download?

    As far as i know everyone should have java no clue why you wouldnt want it, if thats what your asking

    Java has been a security issue for some time now.
    It's not necessary to have it installed.
    But certain software programs require it. Such software will ask you to install it if they need it.
    However, some websites, such as Facebook, use Java RTE for uploading photos etc. but most sites that use it will include a non-Java alternative though.

    Just uninstall it and see if you get any problems with programs.
    I've never installed it on my Win8.1 system and have never been asked for it.

    In my experience N3, most financial sites and gaming sites require java software but the problem is old Java is easily penetrated,many Antivirus programs report false positives because of it and the downloads are as tricky as can be trying to load in all kinds of bloatware to your system that usually enables Malware.
    So try uninstalling it as Pete suggests and lets see if anywhere you go really needs it. Come back with your experiences and we all can learn something.
