Can you tell us how you connect to the internet when it is working. What sort of wireless setup do your have? If you are using a router what is the make and model number.

After you removed the spyware (something that we may have to get back to) did you check to make sure your settings remained as required by your Internet Service Provider.

Finally, assuming we are talking about broadband, what is your isp and what sort of connection? (Cable modem, DSL)

Midnight here on the East Coast but some of our British members and staff will be able to deal with this in a few hours if no one else gets to it first.

Can you open a command window and type ipconfig/all
at the very top should be your 'active' wireless and give you some information, can you post the info on here please.

Normally when it asks you to repair the connection when you attempt to repair it gives you a reason if it cannot repair.
Can you also post that if you can please

Hello C0d3h, welcome to CHF. It sounds as if the malware left you with a winsock corruption.

To reset the Winsock settings automatically, click on Fix this problem.

Click Run in the File Download dialog box, and then follow the steps in

the Fix it wizard. If guided help doesn't work, you will need your OS disk

and you may have to edit the registry in one area and install TCP/IP again.

    Fix this problem

    Microsoft Fix it

Thanks for the quick responses, guys! I've got Belkin 54g Wirless adapter. And I did try to do the ipconfig command. It'll pop the black box up and immediatly dissappear. I'm on my sisters laptop. So I can't do the Winsock file.

You need to type ( cmd ) in the run box and hit the enter key on your keyboard or click the Okay at the

bottom of the run box. When the command line open(black box) type without the brackets ( ipconfig /all )

(Note the space before the forward slash / all)

Microsoft Winsock repair tool here. You can download it to a CD or a flash drive and run it on your computer.

You can also manually reset the winsock using the command line but as it involves a bit of registry edit it

isn't something I would recommend. It is more likely than not that the malware has corrupted your winsock.

It, unfortunately is a frequent occurence when you have been infected....

If you could post a screenshot of your results that would be helpful.

Did you try the Winsock repair tool that allheart55 gave you?
