I am running windows 7 64bit with wmp12 and I cannot add new music files to my media player libary.
I already have approx 50,000 files in there so I was wondering if there is a limit to how many files it will hold, and if so how can I increase it as none of my new music will go in

Hiya Gordon, I've only had time this evening to have a brief look into your problem, but here's a couple of links that may help you out. The first link mentions WMP 11, but I think may pertain to version 12 as well. Check it out, and see what you think.

Please forgive me for the second link "WWW.dummies.com", I can assure you it's not a personal slur on your own abilities (which I know are quiet considerable). The information there appears to cover in some depth the problems you are experiencing.

Thanks for the input I,m buying a new exterior drive this week, so to be on the safe side I'll back up my music files before following Frank's advice. Will report on outcome next week.

Thanks everyone I followed Franks advice and everything is now OK. However 1 thing I discovered is that if you are in a home/workgroup you have to remove your computer from that group or windows will not let you delete the old corrupted library. Once again thanks everyone for the assistance.
