    Is Java 3D useful?

Got the Adobe Flash Player "test page" from a thread on this site.

    http://www.chemgaped...ents/flash.html

After Flash Player verified, it verified Java.
It then went to the Java 3D option.

I installed Java 3D, rebooted and ran the test again. It verified Java 3D.

Thing is, I never heard of Java 3D till now, and do not know what to expect. (A Google is in order!)

Just a side note... after I began the Java 3D install, it ran some, then the computer abruptly shut off and re-booted itself.
Probably never saw that happen before, so it was a shock.
But Java 3D is verified and the computer runs OK after re-boot.

The plug-in offered after Java 3D was one I did not want. Something to do with viewing chemical molecules in 3D, and needed registration.

    Thanks for opinions and insights.
