Ok, let me know and we will go from there :)

In the meantime, please do this:

Please do an online scan with Kaspersky WebScanner

    Click on Kaspersky Online Scanner

You will be prompted to install an ActiveX component from Kaspersky, Click Yes.
    • The program will launch and then begin downloading the latest definition files:
    • Once the files have been downloaded click on NEXT
    • Now click on Scan Settings
    • In the scan settings make that the following are selected:
      • Scan using the following Anti-Virus database:
      • Extended (if available otherwise Standard)
      • Scan Options:
      • Scan Archives
        Scan Mail Bases
    • Click OK
    • Now under select a target to scan:
      • Select My Computer
    • This will program will start and scan your system.
    • The scan will take a while so be patient and let it run.
    • Once the scan is complete it will display if your system has been infected.
      • Now click on the Save as Text button:
    • Save the file to your desktop.
    • Copy and paste that information in your next post.

I highly doubt that the second threat is a virus because it's part of a game on my external drive. But you never know i guess. But the first one i have know idea about.

Right, lets go back to basics here for now:-

You have a cable modem that then plugs into a router and then you connect PCs/Laptops to the router.
The cables that you are using 'should' be Cat5e not crossover.
look at the ends of each wire and compare it here
    http://www.lanshack.com/make-cat5e.aspx

Cat5e has 8 wires not 4 (and they should match at either end) if they are different at either end its a crossover cable and not what you need, you need straight through cables.

if you are still unsure post a pic of the ends of the cables.

I dont think that your problem is malware/program related (ethernet anyway)

I think that we will find its something simple like this

I am unsure, do i have to take a picture of the Ethernet cable connecting to my compute,r or the one connecting to the modem, or both?
When taking the photo, do i need to take off the plastic bit to expose the wires?

Looking back at his post, he explained the difference between the types of wires, and said if you are unsure then to post pictures of the ends of the wires.

By that he means, the ends of the ethernet cables you are using between your PC, the router and the modem.

If you look at the link he gave it shows images of the cables. You do not have to expose the wires, as if you look at the images it shows illistrations of both with and without the plastic ends. If you look at the plug at the end of the wire, you will see it has some tiny metal connectors, basically, count how many there are, in the pictures on the link he gave, there are 8 as shown in the images. Also check the colouring of the nternal wires at the end, that is assuming that the plug is see-through plastic.

If you are unsure, take a photo of both ends of each cable, and try make it clear enough to see the colours of the cables inside.

Also, look along the cable for some printed writing. It might say either Crossover or something similar. Anything to help us identify the type of cable that it is.

Hope this helps explain it a bit more.

Sorry not been back sooner :(

I was getting at the cables, due to the fact that a crossover cable would do what you have posted it would connect and then disconnect all the time.

If the cables at BOTH ends of each cable match then it's a straight through cable, if one of the ends colours are fitted in different ports then its a crossover.

Easiest way to tell is take the cable out and then bend put both ends next to each other and then see if each of the cables within the connectors matches (green split over the blue is the common method for CAT5e)
