Images / Memory cards??

Hi was wondering if anybody could help me with this problem its a long story but:

My sister took aload of pictures at a party and when she went to put them on her computer it started saying not responding so she pulled the memory card out half of the images disappeared but some of them stayed on but wont open the files saved as .PG instead of .JPG so i was just wondering if anybody knows how to correct the images that have stayed on to the correct file type

Sorry if this is in wrong section

 

I would first try changing the extension to .png and see if that works. (probably not)

Next put the card back in the camera and see if they are still showing up on the camera screen. If so I would remove the pictures from the PC and try again.

 

I have tried changing the name and some of them show up on the camera but others dont i will try re doing it and see if that helps
