Yes, I know, the subject line should reflect the nature of the problem, not
    the posters behavour. B-)
I made a stupid rule in windows mail, yep, win98 doesn't have it, but
outlook express behaves in a very similar way (mail rules wise) You lot are
    the gurus anyway.
"Highlight with colour messages older than x days" What colour? WHITE -
    yeah, I know.
Deleting the rule doesn't help, I get the feeling it's something simple.
(Please don't inundate me with opinions of your favourite mail programme.)

Bambam not smoking tobacco for 2 Years, 2 Months, 3 Weeks, 4 Days, 20 hours,
50 minutes and 41 seconds (817 days). I have saved AU$9,618.13 by not
smoking 24,536 cigarettes. My Quit Date: 4/03/2007 12:00 AM

A simpler method might have been to modify the rule to a different
color or modify the related registry/hive entry.
IF you have deleted the original rule, re-create it with a proper
VISIBLE color, OR change the general background color.

  4. You're running Windows Mail in Vista Gold: Why are you posting in a
    Win98-specific newsgroup?

    Try posting here instead:
    news://msnews.microsoft.com/microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail

PS: Vista SP2 has been released. SP2 requires SP1 to be installed first and
you don't have SP1 installed yet. Why not? Is Automatic Updates enabled &
working properly? Is your Vista Gold computer fully-patched?

Actually Bear, it's windows ultimate, and as I said in my post, you guys are
the gurus. Not into having everything happening automatically. Always seem
to have some sort of drama after updates. Having deleted the rule, I
would've thought that the posts would revert to their pre-rule behaviour?
    Obviously not.
    Yes MEB, I do realise this . . . . now.
    Thanks guys.

  6. I can assure that there are plenty of gurus in the Vista-specific
    newsgroups, including microsoft.public.windows.vista.mail.

PS: If you computer is not fully-patched (not including SP1 and SP2),
there's a very good chance that you're seeing the effects of a hijackware
    infection.
