I have seen the files deleted after a shut down and start up. Not every time however. There are file assassins, but you need to be very careful using those programs. Try a restart after trying to delete the files and then see how many are still left! You might try deleting the files while in the safe mode!!
Here's a tool you might try. Works on some files!

    I use that tool, Gary.
It is excellent Tool for removing stubborn files.
Especially files that won't delete because they are being used by another program.
    Good recommendation.

I downloaded it and all but it wouldn't run on my system. I uninstalled it and reinstalled it and tried to run again but no luck. But thanks for the info.

Hi Dave. It will run on your system. What it does is put an entry in your Right click menu.
When you can't delete a file,You right click on "What is locking this file" Another box comes up, click the redX and choose "Delete" If possible the file will be deleted on reboot.
If it doesn't then it is a system 32 file.

I tried running "Everything" as administrator. I was able to delete one more but the rest said I need "System Permission". Don' know how to get that permission.

Ok Dougie I will reinstall and try it again. Thanks.

Ok Dougie thanks for the help.
I tried again to delete but no go. I must find out how to get system permissions.
I also reran the "Unlocker", I never got the "What is locking this file" box and no delete option. I guess these ar sys 32 files. See attached.

Ok well look, maybe its the way I am going about it. I ran Everything, I deleted some 50+ odd files from within Everything. When I came to the last few they won't delete and I do not have the "unlocker" option when I righte click the center of the file. I always get the message about not having permissions. Should I try tracing these files down in C: and try to delete them there? I did look for them there but could not find them, if they are syst 32 files I will need to go into file options and unhide them.
And yes Donetao I looked for safe mode but could not find it. On my old Windows as I rebooted all I needed to do was hit f-1 or f-2, I forgot which and I could go into safe mode. That does not work on win 10 so I don't know about Safe Mode.
    Thanks

I don't know what OS you are using. "Unlocker" works up to and incuding Windows 7.
After Windows7 this unlocker will work.

"Unlocker" works wih all versions of Windows7
In your Profile you are using Windows7
I have Windows7 and "Unlocker" works fine.

    I need to update my profile. I am using win 10 now not win 7. I went to the link about administrator you gave;
http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/wind...idden-administrator-account-on-windows-vista/ and followed the instructions. I attached a copy of the results. I never did get the notice that the cmd was successful. I am he only user of my pc and I am always logged in as administrator. But when I went to delete the files they still would not delete.

Excellent job Dougie. The tool removed the files completely. I hope I can assume I have no more Illyriad files on my pc but who knows for sure. They could have disguised them by not using the name Illyriad but maybe I'm being a bit too paranoid.
Thanks again folks. A job well done.

    Your Welcome.:)
You can be quite confident any entries related to that game are now gone.
