The Firefox file in the Mozilla folder is empty. Can I delete it and the Mozilla folder. I did see that Mozilla still has registery entries under local user/software and local machine/software.

These entries will almost certainly be any user settings/preferences etc.
If you leave those and download Firefox it should add them and give you any settings you previously used with Firefox.
FF can be downloaded from here if needed:
    Firefox

I personally think it's the best browser..... but then i use a lot of addons with it to make my life easier. lol

To be on the safe side......
when installing FF it will ask if you want to transfer your IE settings.
As IE seems to be playing up, i suggest you click NO to this.

I installed Firefox. I now have it, IE8 and Chrome. The only thing I transferred from IE was my favorites.

    Nice one.
Don't forget that Firefox is more customisable than any other browser.
If you click on Tools >> Addons >> Get Addons you'll see what i mean.
They're just like apps on a smartphone, plus lots of Themes.

As i said before, this doesn't seem a malware issue.
Let's remove the programs we've used.

    Step 1
    Please uninstall ComboFix by
Clicking on Start ...then run ... and type in combofix /uninstall (don't forget there's is a gap between x and /) Then press Ok
    .

This action will uninstall Combofix and also perform a few cleanup measures

    Step 2
    • Please double-click OTL to run it.
    • You should see a CleanUp! button, press that button,

    • This will cleanup an assortment of tools used during malware removal, plus itself

    Note:
    MBAM will not be removed

Glad I was able to help.

    Safe surfing. [IMG]
