Icon remains highlighted after closing. Please help

    Operating System:
    Windows 7
    Restarted computer windows 7 pro. Now when I click on an icon to go to a folder or website the icon that I clicked on is highlighted blue after I close. If I click any where on the desk top the highlight goes. Had this happen before and a restart fixed it not this time.

    FWIW: It's really not very hard to accidentally slide the cursor onto an icon with the mouse button held down ... which of course then highlights the icon. Clicking the Desktop once should clear the highlight.
