    Hullo,

I bought a new Samsung N100 which came with FreeDOS. I wanted to install Win7 but couldn't go thru, I started toying around the FreeDOS and I think I formatted the HDD (drive c:). Now I cannot install anything and it keeps asking for a 'bootable floopy...'

I have an external CD-ROM drive but it won't get detected by the netbook. How do I go around this?

    Thanks in advance

You need to plug in your external CD/DVD drive and then reboot/restart your netbook. On restart you need to enter the bios. You should see a splash screen that will tell you which keyboard command (Probably F2) to press to get into the bios. Once you are in the bios find the section that will allow you to change the Boot Device order.

You should see an option for your external CD/DVD device...Follow any instructions given to make this device the first in the boot order. Save any changes you make (Usually F10) and exit the bios.

Place a bootable disk in your CD/DVD drive and reboot your netbook.
