How to copy backup files generated with scheduled Windows server 2008

    Hello,

I am making scheduled backups of my Windows Server 2008 file server
    with Windows Server Backup.

I need to make a copy of the generated backup files to another
computer located in a remote location (I connect to this computer with
    Remote Desktop).

How can I copy the backup files ?

  2. Hello andrew,

Easiest option is to make a mapping, if you have a permanent connection like
    VPN or with a router:

    \\servername\sharename from the run line

    How is your connection setup?

    Best regards

    Hello Meinolf,

I don't think I succeeded to explain my problem.
The backup is not accessible in Windows Explorer that's why I cannot
    copy it.

I need a way to make it accessible and copy it to a remote location.

    Thanks

  4. Hello andrew,

What do you mean it is not accessible in windows explorer? Do you talk about
the hidden harddisk when using external drives for storing backups created
    with 2008?

    Best regards

Yes, it's hidden, you cannot access the backup file in Windows
    Explorer.
But it's not an external driver. It's a regular HDD.

  6. Hello andrew,

When you stop the scheduled backup the disk will be visible again and then
you can copy the data. See this article to modify the scheduled backup:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc754054.aspx

Also have a look on "In Windows Explorer, I am not able to see the disk that
I used to store my scheduled backups" in:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc731602.aspx

    Best regards
