How to avoid the password screen in win2000?

I have two friends with win2000 computers. When one turns the
computer on, it goes all the way to the desktop without his having to
    do anything.

When the other one starts, about halfway through, there is a little
box in the screen that says he has to press Cntl-Alt-Delete to
continue. When he does that, a password screen comes on with
Administrator in the first field and the second field is blank, for
the password. The thing is, he uses no password, so all he does is
press Enger. Is there some way he can keep these two screens from
showing up, so the machine will start up with no intervention.

The second machine jad beem used at some business, where perhaps a
password was used. It was given to him by a friend who worked at that
business and was given the machine when they got better ones.

Thanks for any help you can give.
