Used to know how and likely have the equipment, but forgot how and what to use. There is an audio lecture online I would like to copy to a CD or even a tape but have forgotten how to do it for not done in 10 years and was using desktops then.
Can someone tell me basically how to make a recording from an online audio on my laptop and what to use? Im sure it will come back to me once I am 'tweaked'. Usually have notes about things like this but maybe didnt make any because fresh in mind then.

If I were doing that, the first thing is to get the recording onto your computer, to do so depends on what the on line recording is, such as youtube or something else? If youtube, there are one or two programs that can handle and download from there or similar websites. It would then be possible to burn it to a disk depending on the total file size providing it is a smaller figure than the standard CD size.

Here it is exactly. It is only a clarinet lecture that was suggested to me, but for the life of me I couldnt think of how to transfer it to a CD or tape. Could probably just play it into a tape recorder but was thinking of a little more hi-tech way with cords, cables and devices.

You could possibly use Windows own sound recorder to record a copy to your hard drive, then burn that to a CD, no wires and no devices needed. There are also quite a few free sound recorder programs available too that might do a better job than the Windows one.

This did work. I downloaded Free Sound Recorder and recorded 45 minutes to computer intuitively without reading any Help instructions. Then converted it from mp3 to WAV. Can listen to it now on PC without going to website, or make a CD if I want to keep it. I just forget this stuff if dont do it for awhile. Thanks.

Good to hear you found a solution. I've not tried Free Sound Recorder.
