I've got the latest version of Thunderbird but I keep getting the below when trying to send an email ...

I don't want a 'password' or anything - just for the emails to go [IMG] - I keep unticking that little box below but it just keeps returning.

    Thanks again!

Hi Mara.Somewhere in your server settings, is set to require a username and Password.
    Recheck all your settings.

    Hi Mara,

Dougie is correct, the user name and password has to be set up first. You will only have to enter it the first time.
There are step by step instructions with screenshots for setting up Thunderbird email accounts.

The last two screenshots are where the problem stems from.

Just keep in mind, Mara, that Thunderbird is just the mail client but the settings required are set by the actual email provider (hotmail, gmail, Yahoo mail, etc.) when in doubt look to the site for the POP settings.
