Hi Don't let your computer out smart you. You have to be prepared to out smart your PC. Your PC will try every dirty trick it can to cause your grief. Just when you think you have it figured out and every thing is just exactly like you want it. No problems any where. Every thing it beautiful. Bamm all hell breaks out and you don't know what happened or how to fix these crazy things that have just happened. You try every thing and nothing is working to fix these problems. Wait a minute! You created a image of your OS a week ago with Macrium Reflect. You just put your W PE3 rescue disk in your DVD drive and restore back exactly like the day you created the back up image. Your old PC is back and running just like you want it again. How easy is that??
Did you know you can use that Macrium image to restore your OS on a brand new HD the same size or larger if your old drive dies. Yup you can. I have done it.

I do back ups to an external HD, but just personal stuff. I do it 3 or 4 times a year or more if I do a lot of new wallpaper or photos. I don't mind reformatting, it gives me something to do. That doesn't say much for my life. :p

I do backups weekly that is make Macrium Image files and do a daily file and data backup of my server to a NAS drive. My backups are to a second hard internal hard drive except in my laptop of course which uses an external drive.
