Hello and welcome to CHF Deathbytalkshowhost,

What type of games were you planning on playing? (How casual?)
We need a bit more information about your computer. How much
RAM is currently installed? What size is your power supply?

    Hi,

    I am not a gamer.

You will, no doubt, need to upgrade your Video Card.
This will be a compromise between what you would like and what you can afford.
    Take a look here:
    http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/gaming-graphics-card-recommendation-upgrade,2803.html

Then, depending upon your choice of card you may need to upgrade your PSU.

RAM ( you have 4GB ) could possible be upgraded to 8GB.

This is all about how much you wish to spend.

I was looking to spend between $600-$750 upgrading my PC.

I was viewing the graphics card link you posted and the Radeon HD 6950 looks like a card that would work for me. I just do not know if my motherboard will be able to handle it, and I really do not want to fry the motherboard. But it says a maximum of 250 board watts, so I am wondering whether I need a PSU with 550-750W to handle it?

Thanks for the help so far!

    Hi,

There is no real info on the MOBO, can you open the case and have a look on the board for the manufacturer and a model number if you can.
If you dont want to open the case then open a command window (cmd.exe) and type dxdiag then hit enter. On the main page it should at least give the make and model number of the board.

Those games arent that intensive, but you need to let us know the size of the screen you have/plan to have as this helps choose a card that is suitable..

    The CPU is fine
    RAM is fine (4GB)
so your just looking at the PSU and GPU at the moment - providing the MOBO is decent (for those 2 parts in the UK (using a 22" monitor) your looking £250 ish for decent stuff...
