Help Removing Windows 7 Gadgets

    Hi

    I have done this before but I cannot remember how to completely remove Windows 7 gadgets :doh: I have done Microsofts fixit but it just disables it and it remains in the desktop right click context menu but on another PC it is removed.

    Any help would be great :)

    Hi JokersWild,

    To completely remove a gadget program from your computer, open the Gadgets Gallery window by
    right-clicking the desktop and choose Gadgets. Then, right-click the gadget’s thumbnail, and then
    choose Uninstall from the     shortcut menu.

    Thanks for your reply but I think I may have not been as clear as I should have so I am sorry.

    I am looking to remove/disable the whole Gadget gallery system from my PC is it not supported I did follow this Fix it to disable it

    But it still is in right click menu but is disabled

    So now i get message "Desktop gadgets are managed by your system administrator."

    so what I want is to remove "Gadgets" from right click menu altogether like I done before just have forgot how I did it.

    I have fixed this now .... just turned it off in program and features not sure above was ever needed just confuses me that microsoft would have a fix it when all you have to do is switch it off.

    Make sure it isn't checked in startup as that couold bring it right back. Run, msconfig, ok, startup will do it!

    Checked Msconfig - StartUp and it not even there but thanks I never thought of that strange thing is on my other PC I see sidebar but it is unchecked but all is good. :D
