Hi. I'm running an Asus Notebook N35SN with Windows 7 64bit and today I started having weird and very often random minimizes. It simply is a program of some sort that open itself and closes IMMEDIATLY after. I can see in the bottom bar, that something called "Interactive..." opens, and closes instantly after (I had to record the screen and play it back frame by frame in Premiere, to actually see what it was called). Does anybody know what this could be? I tried restarting the computer and nothing changed. I looked through the Start tab of msconfig and browsed my task manager, but didn't find anything that struck me as something odd..
Here is a picture of it [IMG]

I tried downloading process explorer and keep an eye on any weird processes when this happens - but out of luck.. Nothing happened on process explorer.. This is extremely annoying because it minimizes all my full-screen applications when it happens..
I did a system restore to 2 days ago, where I didn't have this problem.. But it still happens..
Please tell me what to do!
This is a pastebin dump of Hijackthis! log if anybody finds that useful

It may be malware or at very least something that I personally don't recognize. I am also not competent to read HJT logs and our malware removal experts are not very keen on it any more. However before I suggest that this be moved to the malware removal forum I will leave it here for a bit in case someone actually knows what that is.

Saying that, I notice that you have a number of toolbars on your system. I would strongly urge you to remove them all.

Finally I can't seem to find any indication of you running any Anti Virus or Anti Malware programs from that log. Am I missing something?

Just like BeeCeeBee I have no knowledge of reading HJT logs. I to would be interested in knowing what Antivirus/Malware programs if any you have been running.

Are you running Eset Nod32 on your computer?

There is definately no Anti Virus program showing in the report.
To be honest, running Hjt on a 64bit system is a complete waste of time.
Hjt can't enumerate 64bit systems.... that's why we don't use the program any more.

    Step 1
You are missing one important program on that computer: An antivirus.
This is somewhat suicidal in today's digital world.
You need to install an antivirus program as soon as you can and run a complete scan of the computer:
Install one of these, update the definitions and then run a full scan. Let it quarantine/delete anything it finds. Let me know if there is anything that it reports but can not remove.

    Note*:
Upon installation MS Security Essentials will check that your OS is a legal copy.
When installing any Anti Virus program, don't let it install any toolbars.

    Step 2
Let's get some reports from a program that is compatible with 64bit systems:

    • Download OTL to your desktop.
right click on the link and select 'Save Link/Target As'.

if you have problems, try this download link:
      OTL
    • Double click on the icon to run it. Make sure all other windows are closed and to let it run uninterrupted.
    • When the window appears, underneath Output at the top change it to Minimal Output.
    • Check the boxes beside LOP Check and Purity Check
    .

    .
    .

    • Now copy the lines in bold below.

      netsvcs
      msconfig
      %SYSTEMDRIVE%\*.*
      %systemroot%\system32\Spool\prtprocs\w32x86\*.dll
      %systemroot%\*. /mp /s
      %systemroot%\system32\*.dll /lockedfiles
      %systemroot%\Tasks\*.job /lockedfiles
      %systemroot%\system32\drivers\*.sys /lockedfiles
      %systemroot%\system32\*.exe /lockedfiles
      %systemroot%\System32\config\*.sav
      %PROGRAMFILES%\*
      %USERPROFILE%\..|smtmp;true;true;true /FP
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\WindowsUpdate\AU
      hklm\software\clients\startmenuinternet|command /rs
      hklm\software\clients\startmenuinternet|command /64 /rs
      CREATERESTOREPOINT

    • right click in the Custom Scans/Fixes window (under the blue bar) and choose Paste.

      .
      .
    • Click the Run Scan button.

    • Do not change any settings unless otherwise told to do so. The scan wont take long.
    • When the scan completes, it will open two notepad windows. OTL.Txt and Extras.Txt. These are saved in the same location as OTL.
    • Please copy (Edit->Select All, Edit->Copy) the contents of these files, one at a time, and post them with your next reply.

In your next reply, please submit:
    Both OTL reports.
and let me know if the AV you installed found anything.

    Thanks.
