Greetings. Picked up a used latitude C610. PIII, 1.2 ghz, 512meg ram. Installed Win 98 and although everest says there is a PCI-ATI radeon card, I cant get it to recognize and am stuck in 16 color, 640-480 mode. It does recognize a PCI modem, and it GPF's (MSGSRV32) on the driver installation. I'm wondering if this is keeping it from autorecognizing the ATI card. I deleted the modem and the standard VGA display from control panel and now on boot up, it recognizes the PCI card, (modem) and still GPF's on the driver installation. If I go to add new hardware, it doesn't recoznize any new hardware. I went into system setup upon boot and it does list the ATI card as the graphics accelerator. It it was a desktop, I'd now remove the ATI card and reinstall to see if it recognizes, but never perforrmed surgery on a notebook. Any and all tips would be welcomed...

Did you get your drivers from ATI or Dell ??

I noticed Dell does not list a Windows 98 driver, only an XP driver for the video.

And when you say Windows 98, do you mean 98 or 98SE.
