I have been back living in that States full time for about 3 years now. And I have tried, I have truly tried. I am conscious of my cholesterol and what I take in so that, hopefully, my heart will continue to tick away.

But no matter what I do and how many time I try it. I have to confess. I CAN believe it's not butter!!

Actually I much prefer margarine as it lasts a lot longer, butter a week old stinks, never mind the fact it tastes rancid too. There is no way I could use a normal pack of butter in less than that time, so to actually buy it is a waste of money.

refrigeration is nothing new, we had it decades ago, just we can afford to use it any more, with our countries policy on global warming prevention.

you can't spread butter on a slice of bread straight out of a fridge, so leave it out to soften, it goes rancid doing just that more than a couple of times, yeurgh.

Margarine on the other hand doesn't need refrigeration untill the weather gets warm enough for it to melt in the tub, only then does it need keeping cool.

I have no time for messing with butter, too much of life to live and things to do, I will stick, or perhaps stick may be the wrong word, but Margarine will do for me.

About 5 days of the year here then Nev. :p

I have to say I love freshly cooked bread, but I just can't manage to slice the butter thin enough, so It has to have Margarine spread on it :)

You can buy spreadable butter here in most shops.
Is the UK still in the Bronze age?
Ordinary butter can be made soft and spreadable by whipping it and adding some canola oil and putting it in a plastic container and fridgerate.
Margarine has to be bleached, deodorised, colored and flavored otherwise it is a grey smelly grease.
