it's doubtfully hardware related. if it were a hardware issue you would have some kind of artifacts while gaming or benchmarking

it would probably be crashing as well if it were hardware related.

i just don't think that a lost of a few fps, and some benchmark points are going to be hardware related, unless of course you have changed any settings in your bios, but that is still mainly software.

i would recommend getting newer mobo drivers, i almost never use instal disks for anything, those are usually quite dated by the time you recieve them, and it's better to have a nice clean slate to work with.

Last night , i ahd some bizzare crashes on my machine..... so i was really scared (im used to crashes) but this was scary.
    Took out power etc,
Felt teh case, it was extremely hot
Opened the case, heat poured out!
I got one case fan , wich way should it blow , to in or out?
Ithought while it is open lets change the memory to check if the fps cranks up again.
Well i changed the memory , placed in the lastest bought ddr( 512 i bought in dimm1 , 512 what was in dimm1 removed )
Left case open , placed a fan i use in the summer on it
All plugs in again, oke its running again.
So i thought Fps Check (was praying for it to work )
So started game , played and ?.....?
    no :( :( :(
Still the same problem , so what could cause this?
do you guys stick with teh software problem ?

for one thing, one case fan isn't quite gonna cut the mustard.

you should have one intake in the lower front grabbing cool outside air, and one in the back near the ps exhausting hot air.

your problem seems software related, there's probably some app running in the background thats eating up memory and cpu cycles. either that or there was a bad driver install.
