    Hello all,

    Having a problem with my GTX 580 when I run games I get about 5 - 10 FPS to fix the problem I have to alt and tab out the game wait for ages until the clocks go up (MSI Afterburner) then load back into the game and it works fine. Its like the Card goes into energy saving mode and wont start up again. Below I have attactched a Image of MSI afterburner. you can see when the clocks load up and thats when I have to alt tab into game.

    What PSU do you have? Make/Manufacturer plus Wattage.

    Also could you get a temperature reading for the CPU and Graphics Card both when idle and when you try to play your game?
    SIW (Free version at bottom - http://www.gtopala.c...iw-download.php) or Speccy (http://www.piriform....speccy/download) will be able to display the temps.

    Would it be possible for you to try another graphics card in your PC, even if you have to borrow a friends for an hour or so, it should help us rule out any other hardware problem (other than your graphics card).

    After looking at your screenshots your not using the right driver, this is the correct one for a 64bit OS and a 500 series card:-
    http://www.geforce.co.uk/drivers/results/45053

    Follow these steps for a driver install:-

    * download the driver above and save it to your desktop
    * remove the old driver from control panel > add/remove programs
    * (only if removing an older Nvidia driver go to C:/ program files and delete any of the GPU only drivers (if you have a Nvidia chipset MOBO you will have other drivers in here and be careful not to delete them also)
    * restart the PC
    * install the new driver from the desktop
    * restart the PC

    All should be ok now
