Thanks for the information Nev, it is quite useful. However I don't think that Disney Studios is ready for you yet. (or is it the other way around :) )

Here is one I just did using Sqirlz and PhoXo for the frame. Click it on to see full effects. Photobucket is not allowing me to upload anymore pictures.

One little picture at a time is obviously still a good thing, Nev - after all, I loved all the old Walt Disney cartoons! Your happy smoking smilie is cute!!

And how right you are about PhotoFiltre and while I also have PhotoScape, haven't had a chance yet to try it's 'animation' section - thanks so much for the link to tutorial.

Thanks for adding the link to your lovely graphics here, Wildman ... the first one I 'borrowed' was the rain through the lead glass windows ... can't wait to go over them all once again when I snatch a few more minutes on the computer.

Ooooh, the kitty all warm and cozy inside while looking out at the sleeting rain - just lovely!!

I would love to be able to do an animation and set it to music.

One way to do that is learn how to play a keyboard, that way you can play the music yourself to the animation

Must be easier than trying to get an animation to move to the music, just make the music go with the animation :jump:

I really think you should re read the topic on lying, DSTM !! Just for the record I actually made that video using Iwannamakeafunnyvideo.org.

I would tell you how I did it but you will need to do it using a Commodore64.

Wildman, while I can't find my two favourite sites for free photos (that'll teach me to not back up my computer for a month before it went poof!) ... perhaps the two below sites may be of a bit of help?

Here's one of the site that has free photos ... takes a bit of digging but it helps that's there is a 'filter' box when searching.
    http://morguefile.com/archive/browse/#/?sort=last_zip

At this site, the one grouped in the middle are the freebies ... as long as one sticks to that section and uses the arrows to see more, the ones that cost $ can be avoided...

Aaah, that singing hippo and dancing dog are really cute, Doug - and I've always loved that old version of the song too - thanks for finding and sharing it with us!

Nev ... you've given me an idea! If I can figure out this animation stuff, I've a freebie program that I use to either speed up music or slow it down ... so could slow it down while working with animation to fit to the beat - and then speed the entire animation and sounds back up later?

The only time I really attempted animation was for a tiny section of a slideshow I was making .... and while far from perfect, the results were okay - but how agonizing to create the little mere seconds segments. (Made the 'person' ... and kept copying and pasting in a photo program to make the 'person' move a wee bit at a time - yup, agonizing - grin!).

Just fiddled with a couple minutes with the below freebie - and while it's very easy to use, wish I could figure out how to add heads, hands, feet and clothes. Still, perhaps this will be the easiest program to learn on, at least for human bodies moving?

That looks interesting Mara, the Pivot stick man they mention is one I tried some time since, I can't remember too much about it, but did give it a try out.
The thing about animation is that there are some tricks you can use in movement. If for example a fairly quick move is going to be anticipated, then very few frames or even none can be used to make a subject jump from one spot to another, the eye is tricked into interpreting the movement, even if there are no frames between the start and end point. ( frame being each individual picture)
Even so a painstaking job of frame after frame taking hours to create, for just a few minutes of animation.

Well back to Out of Bounds stuff again.
Some time since on a rather dull day I took this picture of a rather cute mother and child statue we have in the town.

I then got busy to create this, using Photofiltre of course with a free to use background from Google.
First was a little improvement with the brightness and contrast to brighten it up a little, then started the real work.
The cat is a free to use image, again from Google.

Well, I'm befuddled, yup, I am. I do see the original photo of the lady and child statue in both Nev's original and in Wildman's photo - such a nice statue and far far better than most of the ones we have over here, that's for sure!

What a cute idea you've used of adding the kitty, Nev!

Wildman, I downloaded a few of your animations and because I'd hate to use any without giving you credit, tried to add your name in the bottom right hand corner - but after saving and re-opening, discovered I'd killed the animated part of your photo 'dead' - drat. Shall still use a couple, if you don't mind, but promise not to take credit for them.

Snag an use away. I had taken some of those photos from other cites to manipulate myself. If you want to try and put your own touch to them that's fine with me also.

    Thanks

Like the way you did the rain and the photo frame.

Ok Kitty like you as well.

PS wonder why Photobucket is not allowing YOU to upload anymore pictures.
