    Google Chrome Operating System

Google this week announced plans to develop and launch its own open source, lightweight operating system, that will be targeted at the netbook market, later this year Google intends to open source its code, and should be available the latter half of 2010,

Google says that their aim is to make Google Chrome OS to be fast, simple and secure, Google are aiming to make it possible for the user to start up and access the web in a few seconds, the user interface is to be minimal and stay out of the way, most of the user experience is to take place on the web. Google Chrome OS will be going back to basics and completely redesigning the underlying security architecture of the OS so that users don't have to deal with viruses, malware and security updates.

The Google Chrome OS will run on x86 and ARM chips and will be available on a number of netbooks, running within a new windowing system on a Linux kernel. For application developers, the web is the platform, All web based applications will work and new applications can be written using favourite web technologies. these apps will run not only on Google Chrome OS, but on any standards-based browser on Windows, Mac and Linux thereby giving developers the largest user base of any platform.

Google chrome OS is not to be confused with Android, which was designed to work with different devices from phones to set-top boxes to netbooks, Google Chrome is being designed for people who spend a lot of time on the web, and will be created to work on computers ranging from netbooks to full size desktops, While there is places where Android and the Chrome OS will overlap they hope the choice will drive innovation for the benefit of everyone

Google says that consumers want computers to get better, people want Emails instantly, and don't want to wait for their computers to Boot and for browsers to start up, They want them to run as fast as when they first bought them, they want access to their DATA wherever they are and don't want to worry about about losing their computer or forgetting to back up their files, they don't want to have to spend hours configuring their computers to work with every new piece of hardware, or have to constantly update their software, and by making their users happier Google benefits as they are likely to spend more time on the internet.
