It seems when I play games on my PC, the top part of the front of my tower (I have the audio/mic jacks there, a couple of USB ports and a sata port) is the only place where it gets quite warm. There's no noise to speak of now that I have my new cooling system installed but is there any reason why only the front is getting warm? What else is there apart from the CD drive and the wires for the jacks leading to the motherboard? At first I thought it was because I usually like to plug my earphones in while playing, and apparently that takes up a lot of power, so it was generating heat, but I just played for a bit without them plugged in and it was still hot.

Hi Unless it is very warm I wouldn't be concerned. Warm air rises and could even be hardware thats getting hot in the tower.

My Jacks are warm when in use but not very hot.

I would run "free speccy" and check your temps when you are gaming, first.

Try the back USB ports and try another headset to eliminate possibilities.
