I am adding a photo of my daughter visiting Bermuda, where she was born.
We lived on this small island in Harrington Sound, named Turtle Island.
I will bet that BeeCeeBee did not visit The Devil's Hole tourist trap, which is just down the road. I know we never did.

He was probably playing bad golf on St. George Golf Course.
We lived next to it, also. I think it was his golf ball that hit Jimmy The Goat when he was grazing in the yard.
Jimmy shrugged it off since he had a hard head and was accustomed to such bad ball control.

Umm, umm, I am a bit overwhelmed seeing that picture of your lovely daughter with her back to the sound. If I have my bearings correct the white "house" behind her is Angels Grotto guest house. I have a few friend that lived off to her right and up the hill out of sight.
St. Georges is one of the courses that I played badly but since I lived in Southhampton I spent more time destroying Port Royal and the Belmont.

I was just don de road from Gibbs Hill, bye.

Boy, oh "bye"! Not sure about your bearings.
Here is a current shot from space of Turtle Island, marked with the green ball.

Then another view from Heidi's visit. Devil's Hole Tourist Trap is just behind the camera.

The other shot is our sailboat moored exactly where that Google green ball is placed. How convenient!
    Jeanne and Poco Mira!

My bearings were way off. I had her sitting a bit further to her right than she was. If I am not mistaken there was some form of wire that allows you to pull yourself across.

As for the Devil's hole I am afraid that I was in there . A pure joke. But I lived there alone and my son was very young then and spent the summers with me so we did most everything.

Yes, there was a cable car that used a heavy cable and 2 ropes and a motor (when the motor was working).
We used the cable car a few times to get propane tanks back and forth, but used a punt the rest of the time.

I heard Devil's Hole Tourist Trap was a joke, so we never walked there to visit it.
With older children, it would have been fun, though.

Mine were young, so I strung a safety fence around a small section of the island, so they would not fall into the water by accident.

I am pleased that you noticed the island and the ropes and cable!

OK I think I got it right now. I was not that far off. The Red Arrows represent the truth and the White Arrow was what I thought I was seeing. Angels Grotto was never on an island but Turtles Island was a landmark that everyone would recognize. The other two pictures are from my deck in Southampton looking southwest over the Atlantic.

Finally located Angel's Grotto tourist cottages.
We sailed past that area many times.
Monkey Island (our name) is up that way. It was a monkey refuge and was always fascinating to sail around.

I always enjoy hearing about a person's stay in Bermuda.
The big secret is that its a brilliant idea to save parts of the Island for later exploration if you will be there awhile. B)

Turtle Island is the name of the island and the name of the home.

Usually, homes have names that are stand-alones, with no reference to the location.
Like Rose Cottage, the one next to St. George Golf Course.
Like Banana Manor, just behind Butterfield's Bank on the Square in St. George.

Off the Square in St. George is Lemon Grove, where we also lived.

I would love to spend some time at a Vancouver Island (BC, Canada) resort that has the views of the incoming storm waves from the west.

BC in general is way past plumb in the natural beauty department. Spectacular!

Bermuda is a favorite destination of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada residents.
I personally don't understand going from Halifax to Bermuda, since they are similar in many ways.
But then its not my money.
Well, wait... the water is warmer and there are palm trees, so now I get it. ;)

Both dots are good looking and are good people. Yea!
    :D

It's Long Beach on Vancouver Island that you'll want to head to - miles of rugged beaches and absolutely breathtaking when the waves are crashing in during a storm. :)
