If you want to make people see you Offline on FaceBook as you are looking aroud on FaceBook I know you go to the 3. Dots then Settings.

Then you go to Privacy and go to Activity Status and to this On.

When this is On the Tab looks Gray and all my Contecs go away.

is this how I know it is working?

Or am I doing it wrong?
