I don't get involved with malware removal and for good reason . BUT some of this sounds like a heat issue. If Tom clears you I would think that this should be reposted in some fashion under either hardware or your Operating System.

    Yep :)

This isn't malware related. Let's cleanup our work.

Please run OTL one more time and hit Cleanup. This will remove OTL and all helper tools.

    All done!

Tom, thanks for all your time and help in this!

A final question: With all the information in this thread about my computer, does leaving the thread online put me at risk for a hacker?

I don't see anything that identifies your computer that would cause you to be at any risk. You have identified what is on it to some degree but there is nothing else that would lead anyone to you.

If you are still having problems I would suggest that you repost under whatever Operating System you are using and make note of the fact that malware has been ruled out in this thread. Not everyone reads the malware threads and no one else can really post here anyway.

    Hi,

You had suggested that I repost my computer issue under my OS type or hardware, since solving the malware issue didn't solve the issue I was having. I did repost but haven't gotten a response in about 3 weeks. What are my options to try to find someone?

    thanks!
    Gregg

Perhaps it is just me but I can't seem to find any new post. :( Can you please give us the link or direct us to where it can be found. Thanks

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. I posted it March 22 on Window XP forum ("High CPU Usage for Small Tasks"). I just checked and there are a few responses- for some reason my e-mail was never notified about them- I may have forgot to check a box somewhere- I was getting e-mails for the previous thread. The last response to the current thread seems to have some things inaccurate- I do have two internal slots for hard drives, and it can take up to 2 GB RAM, and the speed of the Pentium chip (when I look under My Computer) says 2.4 GHtz.
