our outgoing email was relayed through our dsl company. We changed to
another internect connection company and they don't relay emails. What do I
need to do in order to get emails out.

    Thank you.

  2. This might help.

Hi - microsoft.public.exchange.admin is the place to post all Exchange
questions - be sure to include your versions & SP levels of everything, as
answers generally vary by version. I'm setting up my reply to crosspost
    there.

What you're describing is a 'smarthost' - and is something you'd generally
need to use only if you were on a dynamic public IP or your ISP blocked
outbound port 25 to anything but their own mail servers, among other things.

If you have a static public IP (which is preferred) you don't need to use a
smarhost but can send out your mail directly (resolving names via DNS). It's
better not to use a smarthost if you can avoid it, as you have more control
over your outbound mail and can use message tracking more accurately.

If you still need one, but your ISP doesn't offer SMTP relay services, you
can buy a third party service such as DynDNS MailHop Outbound, which allows
150 relays per day (you can buy multiple bundles) for a very low price.
