error:84 ... Cursor problems

    I require help.
    On IE and Netscape I am contantly receiving, on any website with a search bar such as hotmail, google, etc, an error 84 unspecified error message. I am unable to bring up a cursor on these sites. Related to this, somehow, is another problem with my add/remove program function. All of my program icons have disappeared. I am wondering if all of this is related to my recent download of the windows xp sp2 upgrade. Or maybe .net upgrade.

    If anybody can help here in anyway it would be greatly appreciated.

    The only thing I could hunt up about the error is that it is related to Real Player. If you have Real installed maybe a re-install will fix the problem.
