Hello all! I am fairly new here so forgive me if i sound like a goof.

I am a multi gamer i play it all, world of warcraft, cod4. All sorts of games. I decided to use 2 monitors because i thought it would be funner. and from what ive seen it is

So the problem- I have a planar PL2010M monitor as my secondary monitor and it seems to be black. Now you may say oh well turn it on or there may be no signal check your wires. Well guys the wires are on and such, but get this. If there is no signal the color on the monitor will be orange or yellow, in this case the color is green! And usually on a monitor your able to play with the menu buttons or arrows and a menu comes up. In this case its like its dead, there is no livelyhood in it. Its not my VGA wires because i tried several different wires. Its not my video card. So its getting signal just no color no matter what i do. I have googled and youtbube'd this for ages. I just cant seem to get the fix.

My video card is a ATI Radeon HD 5670.
And my number one monitor is a BENQ G2410HD

    Please help!

    -Thanks!

Have you set up the monitor in your computer? It would be screen number 2 in graphics properties. Just right click on the desktop.

Yes, i followed tutorial on youtube for this. When i check the box that says extend to desktop for monitor #2 the light goes green as if its acting like its on and there is an image. Though there isnt. When i uncheck it it goes into orange state standby.

    A couple of further questions.
What is the refresh rate set at on the Monitor in question?
    Have you tried another Monitor?
Have you tried the onboard Graphics?

Not to sound like an idiot. But i believe the only regresh rate set on this monitor is 60 hz. No i have not, i have only this one. But i know its not my computer based on the fact that i am using one right now. But no i do not have another monitor to check. My onboard graphics are fine i believe. I just got this video card about 2 months ago.

It has to be something with the monitor tho, because awhile ago i could press a button on the monitor and get the menu to change the brightness and such. And how there is nothing. If there was a way to reset it or something that might help.

No one thinks your an Idiot ever.
With our collective minds we are trying to pinpoint the problem.
Just because some hardware is 2 mths old means zip.
I have had Mobos fail right out of the Box. Hard Drives that last a week.
You need to try that monitor on another Computer and see if it works.
Is this a Desktop or laptop?
Try the problem monitor as the sole monitor and see if you get any images.
If the Menu buttons don't work I am of the opinion the monitor is cactus.
Wait for other opinions and advice as well.

I agree with DSTM that we need to find out if the Monitor is working correctly before going crazy trying to solve a problem. Without a second computer the easiest and best way to check is to remove the working monitor and plug the questionable one into the same output as the working monitor. If it doesn't work its toast and we know the answer.

Problem fixed. Thanks for the help boys. I figured it out after playing around with it. Needed a higher voltage power cord, turns out the monitor power cords were mixed up while the monitor was transported.

Glad you worked it out but I must admit that is a new one on me. Does not Canada use the same North American standard as the US?
