    Hi to all professionals!

A question regarding domain naming: One of our customers has a w2k domain
    with domain name "internet.local".
I know that there is/was a patch available from microsoft to be able to
create trust relationships between wk2 domains, when one domain has this
    specific name.
Patch was installed and everything worked fine!
Now, what happens when one domain will be upgraded to w2k3 or w2k8? Do I
have to expect any problems/incompatibilities? What about additional
applications like exchange 2007, sql, etc?
Hope that somebody can give me some helpful suggestions.
    Many thanks in advance!
    Joe

  4. Hello Joe,

Since this problem is solved with a hotfix, it should be included in all
later OS automatic. You have restrictions for use the name as an OU in AD
    but this does not apply.

Create it in a lab environment with virtual machines to be sure that all
will work together what you have.

    Best regards
