To be Honest, In the UK that's the least of my worries, with the invent of numberplate recognition and face recognition software, and camera's on main roads and city centre's it would be quite easy for someone to track my movements.

and the information that banks and credit companies have access to :) or in my case don't have access to as I use cash

then their is this big thing where ISP's are supposed to be logging internet use to stop copyright infringement.

I can Honestly say whatever information facebook can gather from my browser pales into insignificance compared to the information you can gather from my smart phone.

and my bottom line on the matter, I don't do anything I am ashamed of, so as it's more hassle than it worth what's the point in hiding it, In fact it may even be to my benefit as It would give me proof of my innocence should I be falsely accused, and to those who object to the gathering of personal information, I wonder what your so ashamed of that you want to hide it?

Bit late to this, but agree with Match, the information that governments, police, NHS (or equivalent), banks and so on will have on us is a lot more than Facebook will ever have. The same thing goes with Google in regards to privacy, I admit some things that are collected/tracked on the internet now are quite alarming but in reality I would have thought the same/similar information could be found on paper records as well at some point or another.

Said similar things like this to other people as well, what is there really to hide.
The Internet as far as I know was designed to share information, a personal/communication aspect has been brought to it in the form of Facebook, Twitter etc. This point of sharing information obviously isn't compatible with this if we want privacy, one of these has got to give and it definitely won't be the sharing of information that's how we have progressed (though I question this on treatment of others sometimes) as a species over the years, so either we accept the fact that we have limited control of the information we put online because after it is on the internet it pretty much stays there one way or another or we don't participate/go on the internet at all, I know which one I choose.
