I just use the SAS free version. I know there are some users that use MBAM, SAS, and a AV program in real time.
I have done that in the past myself, but I don't feel the need for the pro version of SAS at this time. You can find a lot of comments on the web from people that run both in real time with AV and have no conflicts
I'm thinking that SAS has changed a lot;);) sense you used it Rich.

There was a time when I ran Sas Pro, Mbam Pro and Nod32 and never had any issues with conflicts. I have occasional run Sas as an additional Malware scanner and while the gui is much different I don't find the program much different recently.

I don't understand " I don't find the programs much different" Programs are always up dating and changing. Adding definitions ect.
Every time I run SAS it up dates. Every time I manually run MBAM it up dates??

Your antivirus program updates on a regular basis because the hackers update their attacks on a regular basis.
The more frequent they update the better.

There are two different types of updates Gary with an AntiMalware program. Definition updates occur daily but they do not in essence change a program, they change what their programs detect is all producing no visible change in their actions. Program updates which are less frequent can change the physical program as to how it looks and what it does but the basic features of SAS that I see are no different than it ever was.

But you just said you haven't used it much? But yes the gui or interface may look a bit different but the functions are no different than they were 10 years ago.

Thanks for posting that and proving my point by doing so. The only thing I see new is "System Investigator - Shows what's running on your PC in a new and exciting way. Customers and technicians can use this tool to quickly determine if a file on the system is potentially malware." Not sure that is needed, just run the scan and let it pull up what it pulls up, that's what we need AntiMalware programs for. The basic program is no different.

In all those years and you showed all the definitions updates which is 95% of what Sas is doing.

If you want a great freeware program that has some great tools and also scans your PC for malware try the new SAS.
It's a great program. If you think you need another layer of protection, spend 10$ and run it in real time.
It will run just fine a long side your AV. The System Investigator is also a great new feature. SAS is always improving; maybe not as well known as MBAM, but they do a great job.;);):winner:Check out the tools section in SAS. After going though all this, I think I'm going to get the paid version!:clapping:

Hi! Spent all afternoon trying to help senior recover a deleted file. The senior cut and pasted instead of copy and paste.
To make a long story short, down loaded recuva. Was my first time using this software. I was really impressed even though we couldn't recover the file. My advice is always copy and paste if the file is important to you.
Any way I want to add this freeware to this thread. Looks like a great program to me when you screw up, and delete a file accidentally.;)
recuca! here's safe down load site. No Pup's !

Recuva is a good free program but recently I had my eyes opened when Recuva failed to bring back the users data on a desktop where "Recover My Files" brought back almost 1000 pictures and files, unfortunately it is not free and it reminded me there is a difference.
