I recently had some malware issues and (long story short) have decided to re-install my operating system (win7 64-bit). However, when I try to boot from the instalation disc, I run into an issue. I get to the "press any key to boot from disc" option, but even after I press a key nothing happens. I know the keyboard ia on because it is lit up. I'm stumped. Any ideas?

Hello Goblinbee and Welcome to CHF,

In the BIOS, under external peripherals, is USB enabled?

Yes, when I go to the "advanced" tab in the BIOS and select "USB configuration" I can see that all the options are enabled.

I was able to resolve this issue by resetting my BIOS to the default settings. However, now that I can actually boot from the disc I am facing another issue. I decided to start a new thread so that people don't have to read through this whole thread. I hope this is not disallowed for any reason. New thread is here:
