Hi bogyone. Welcome to Computer Help Forums.
Have you tried a system restore?
Also if you open your Graphics control panel there are options there to stretch the image to fit your screen.

Hi further to DSTM and stretching the view to fit the screen. Which graphics control do you have?
I can advise regarding NVIDIA, right click on an empty space on the desktop and choose NVIDIA Control Panel. Once that has opened, select or open "Display" then select "Adjust desktop size and position" you should then see a screen with arrows on both sides and top and bottom, click those which should move things for you.

Hi, thanks for that, and Hope DSTM doesn't mind me stepping in here,
I did a search and found this article, it may or not be of help and does give some links for relevant drivers. Worth a look at and do take notice of what this guy says regarding not installing driver version 8.593.100.0

1280 X 800 is the proper setting for that screen. Using a different resolution will have varying effects on the display. From what I gather you really don't have a problem at all. You just need to customize the display as you have until it is acceptable to you.
