My daughter was using a copywritten disc and attempted to duplicate it. Since that day, upon startup, I receive a message saying the drive could not be opened...and to insert the disc into drive A. I hit the continue button, and my programs load, and I can get on the internet, however, the system keeps freezing and unfreezing iabout every 10 seconds. I can continue working, but have to re-click my mouse.
I have scanned and cleaned the disc., but it continues to flash in and out. Please help me to get rid of the problem.

    Hi,
You may want to try going into safemode and see if the screen still flashes, if it does not, it is likely a driver issue which you can solve by uninstalling your video card from device manager and let it auto detect after a restart. Could also try system restore (start; programs; accessories; system tools; system restrore) If the screen still flickers in safemode.. you may have an issue with your video hardware. Check to see if all of your cables are tight on the system end as well as the displays connection. A loose vga or dvi cable or a damaged terminal can cause flickering. Safemode is accessed via F8 during bootup. Could also try going into the BIOS and see if there is any flickering there, dependant upon whether or not it is a physical flicker or flash caused by faulty hardware, or one caused by software/driver corruption.
    Goodluck
